Workshops
The workshops I prefer to teach are those where the student goes back home with a working example of the craft he or she set out to master. They generally go from a day to a couple of weeks depending on the project. They may happen indoors or outdoors and some depend on seasonal availability of materials. There will be a number of workshops taught as equipment preparation for materials needed at bushcraft, medieval or primitive technology walkabouts or any other course. This would be a long list. Feel free to inquire about specific skills, techniques, or crafts that you are interested in even if they’re not listed, and I may be able to arrange it. Some examples of workshops would include:
Knife making and other bushcraft tools
Hide and fur tanning
Hunting bow and arrow making from medieval to primitive
Bow hunting and bow fishing
Primitive traps and trapping
Animal processing and meat preservation
Containers of different kinds
Seasonal shelters
Navigation and topography
Friction fire making
Flint and steel fire making
Flint knapping and basic lithic technology
Leather working and tooling for bushcraft and medieval equipment
Cloaks, hoods, and other medieval garments
Skin on frame kayaks and canoes
Male initiation and ritual space
